In the last two months French Elle and French Cosmopolitan have put plus size girls on their front covers.
Elle’s picture was accompanied by the tagline ‘The Body’ implying that this is the shape women should aspire to - while the inside feature promised to give style advice to those who may not fit into size 8 clothes. A breakthrough in the fashion magazine industry, showing that using a curvy model in a magazine is now more accepted and ‘normal’ because people want to see a beautiful model with a realistic and healthy body shape in fashion.
