I am only just catching up on outfit posts so sorry!
Last week was my first full week as PhD student, on Thursday the School of Management took all new PhD's for Afternoon tea at the Pump Rooms, which was lovely. That evening we also had dinner with the existing School of Management PhD's as a sort of to get to know you session. I wanted to dress to leave a good impression and decided my new River Island dress was the perfect dress for this.
I stumbled upon this dress by accident but fell in love with it, but was disheartened as River Island only go up to a size 18 and i thought this dress would never fit, the BF encouraged me to order it and said the worst is that my fears are realised and it goes back.
When the dress arrived and i took it out of the package i was really excited, the dress is made from a stretchy material and i thought i might have a hope in hell of getting into it, i slipped it on and success, it actually fit (yes it shows my lumps and bumps but i have them, i can't hide them). I love the print on this dress and think it is going to become a staple in my wardrobe and for £35 it is a tad pricer than i would normally pay but i think it is totally worth it. I paired the dress with my Matalan Red pumps which cost £6.
Have you ever been surprised by the fit of some of the high street chains?
