The dress that breaks rules

This is a dress that is a bit in your face, the bright colour and loud print just screams 'look at me' which as a plus size girl should have had me running and screaming, seeking comfort in a black tent like tunic. However that isn't very like me, so i went out with my look at me dress and loved it.

The dress is covered in colourful hair clips which is quite quirky, it has an orange panel at the top, a peter-pan collar, nice length sleeves and a exposed zip at the back of the dress in orange. I got this is a size 20 and it just fits, the material isn't very forgiving and has very title stretch, it is also quite short, when i sit down it rides up, so you aren't a fan of having your legs and/or bum on display, i would avoid this dress. I feel like i am breaking so many fat girl taboos in this dress!

Dare to be noticed

A crossword top i hear you say, why yes i do own one. This is quite an unusual top, i haven't seen anything like it before and i got lots of compliments when i wore it to uni.

The top is from Very and is part of the Jamelia Jamil collection, which has lots of lovely pieces. It goes up to a 20 but the 20 was sold out when i got mine, so i got an 18 and it fits fine, it has an oversized slouchy fit, it hangs off one of my shoulders and to make it even better, it is actually a crop top of sorts, it comes mid belly on me so i could wear it with shorts or just on it own in leggings too.

Out Of My Comfort Zone - Mixed Pastels

Rachel aka @HappynessMagent put a call out on twitter to see if anyone would be interested in a new challenge, helping us to get out of our comfort zone.

Challenge 5#
Mixed Pastels - Any piece, accessory, shoe, bag, nail polish etc, coordinate some pastels, at least 2 color pastels

Dress - ASOS Cruve via Ebay
Shrug - Matalan cardigan
Belt - Matalan
Necklace- New Look
Pumps - New Look
Nude Lipstick - MUA

I love this outfit, when i first got the challenge i was like do i even own any pastels, as always i thought i was going to have improsise on the challenge, but after a look through my wardrobe, i came across this dress, which i recently got from Ebay, i loved the orange top and mushroom skirt, the colours worked really well together and weren't colours i would normally wear. I am very pale (my legs almost look translucent in these pictures) so pastels can wash me out, therefore i need to go slighter brighter with my pastels. For my mixed pastels i added a coral cardigan tucked into the belt at the back to make it into a shrug, left loose it took away from the dress.  The dress does have a black band but to really bring out my waist i added a black belt . I added nude coloured pumps as i didn't want to overpower the outfit, they also add to the pastel shades and to finish off the outfit i added a long dragonfly necklace that has turquoise beads. This outfit just goes to show you really need to play around with your clothes, as what you wouldn't think can work, really can.

Wardrobe Twin

I love Rachel's wardrobe, i would happily be locked in there playing dress up forever and never leave, but sadly this isn't really socially acceptable, so i do the next best thing, i buy her wardrobe. We have quite similar body shapes and she always looks amazing, so if i can get a little slice of that, i will. You might have already noticed we sometimes have quite similar outfits or even the same, earning me the nickname 'wardrobe twin' *sigh* if only.

Rachel recently had a blog sale where i snapped up a few amazing pieces and today i am showing you one of them.

After the OMCZ challenge to wear yellow, i got so many lovely compliments on how lovely yellow looks on me, i have decided to dabble with it a bit more. This is more of a mustard colored dress that is very full in the skirt. I love the neckline, i haven''t seen anything like it before and it adds a bit of sexiness, which i am all for. I added a skinny black belt to define my waist and break up the colour a bit. Now can we take a minute to talk about how amazing the shoes are? they are from New Look and are limited edition. I am loving the whole cut out trend and think these will be perfect for spring , at £60 they aren't cheap, but i have seen Topshop selling a similar thing for £90. I got them in a 6 and they fit great, even though i had wide feet.
