Charlotte has had such a struggle to get this collection off the ground, her Uni were less than supportive and didn't help her find any models (while money was spent on getting professional models for the other designers) and even told her she couldn't show, a week before the big day they actually hadn't even put her in the running order but thanks to the great plus size community we rallied together and Charlotte managed to get 6 of us to agree to model for her meaning she was allowed to show on the catwalk.
I remember seeing the clothes on her blog and just thought wow, these are amazing, fashion forward designs, that only someone brave and bold and who knows plus size could have made. I can't imagine many retailers stocking bralets and high waisted trousers and shorts for plus size consumers. The colour palette was to die for and the clothes felt luscious on, you can tell so much love and care went into making these garments.
Hair and make up was a bit of a disaster to start with, because of the short notice they hadn't really had time to design a look for us to we were given something pretty bog standard, Charlotte hated it and was gutted she didn't have any input into how we would look. Luckily they decided to change our hair and have us huge 50's victory rolls, which we all loved and complemented the collection perfectly.
I wore high-waisted trousers, spotty ruffled crop top and pink jacket.
We received huge cheers throughout our time on the catwalk and everyone (including the other models) were incredibly supportive of us.
